Satisfactory Academic Progress Alert at Boise State University

As a Boise State University student, you have been granted a one-time exemption to the 75% Credit Completion standard. This exemption is referred to as the "SAP Alert" program. You will now be given the following conditions to meet at the end of each semester if you enroll within the next academic year.

During the summer semester, you must:

  • Pass 100% of all credits that you attempt
  • Earn at least a 2.25 GPA for the summer term

During each of the fall and spring semesters:

  • Pass 100% of all the credits you attempt
  • Enroll in at least six credits for the semester
  • Earn at least a 2.25 GPA for that same semester

Special Note: If you change your major and are no longer enrolled in a bachelor's degree program, your satisfactory progress status will be reviewed on an on-going basis and you may be assigned a hold that will prevent you from receiving federal aid.

In addition, you are required to:

  • Complete the Financial Literacy course at http://www.financialliteracy101.org. The school access code is SAPAlert.
  • Print off and complete the Academic Self-Assessment (PDF) and meet with your academic advisor to discuss the results.
  • Both the certificate of completion for the online Financial Literacy course and the academic assessment must be turned into Advising and Academic Enhancement in the Gateway Center.

Financial aid eligibility continues as long as you meet the Alert criteria above for each semester of enrollment or you raise your SAP completion rate to the minimum 75% AND you meet all other standards for the SAP policy.
